Linking Education, Nurses, and Seniors (LENS) Program
The Linking Education, Nurses, and Seniors (LENS) program was established [in 1994] in collaboration with District 9 of the New York State Nurses Association. The goals of the LENS Program are:
- To provide education that promotes physical and emotional well-being;
- To increase awareness of healthy lifestyles; and
- To offer programs designed by professional nurses and consumers to meet the interests and needs of seniors.
Today the LENS program provides a multitude of programs for seniors across the state. Examples of programs include Medication Management/Drug Awareness; How to Improve Your Z's (sleep disorders), Preventive Health Care, and Memory Loss...Dealing with Family, Freiends and Neighbors with Symptoms.
The LENS Program can hold programs at your site! All services are provided free of charge as a community service.
